New Year in St. Moritz
Thursday June 28, 2012 by
The resort of St. Moritz in Switzerland is renowned for its glitz and glamour, but it is a resort that should not be overlooked for some exceptional skiing. The mountain is vast and because a high percentage of visitors do not actually ski, it is relatively uncrowded during the busy weeks of the season. The three linked ski areas provide much to suit all abilities from the rolling intermediate pistes of the Corviglia to the steep slopes and glacier of Diavolleza.
One of my favourite quotes from a St. Moritz local…."I prefer not to take the gondola up the mountain with the other skiers, I arrange for a helicopter to drop me off at the top instead, it is much quicker!". Seems very logical to me.
Chalets (your private home in the Alps!)
The resort is better known for its hotels, but we have
some great luxury chalets. One of our favourite hidden gems is the
Chesetta in Silvaplana. It is
one of our favourites, but most definitely the most luxurious and
understated private luxury chalets available to rent in St. Moritz.
The property is currently available from 20th December until 3rd
January at the rate of CHF 170,000 on a fully catered basis.
"Staying at Chesetta is not like a break in a five-star hotel, it's like staying with wealthy relatives who can't do enough to make you happy" Financial News
"The perfect escape for those in search of slope-side respite for all the family " Harper's Bazaar

Hotels, Hotels, Hotels!
The resort is very well known for its iconic hotels such
as the Badrutt's Palace, the
recently renovated Carlton Hotel
and newcomer Nira Alpina. All
are great properties and very popular so get booked up months in
advance. Ellie and Karen in our hotel team have the latest
availability for luxury hotels in St. Moritz at their fingertips so

information.
