Luxury Ski Chalets in Courchevel 1850

The destination

The resort area of Courchevel actually consists of four separate ski towns. Each is luxurious and well-planned, but Courchevel 1850 stands in a class of its own. It physically crowns the resort area and is easily the most attractive ski resort in all of the French Alps.

Courchevel 1850 is historically important, as well. This was the first purpose-built ski resort in France. Rather than being based around an existing village already in the Alps, this resort was built from the ground up for no other reason than to accommodate and cater for skiers.

Courchevel 1850 is an icon of luxury, and it includes two of only eight formally recognised 6-star hotels in France. As the crown jewel in the Courchevel resort region, this is where the rich and royal escape for a holiday on the slopes.

Experience the Three Valleys

Courchevel 1850 stands at the centre of the Three Valleys—one of the world’s largest and most important ski areas. It also hosts an important junction in a network of chairlifts that stitch together the entire region. With that in mind, if you are based at a Courchevel 1850 luxury chalet, you’ll be well-positioned to explore and enjoy all that the Three Valleys has to offer.

Of course, those are based in Courchevel 1850 are understandably inclined to spend as much time in the resort as possible. Between the celebrity sightings, Michelin-starred dining and first-class service, it’s difficult to justify spending time anywhere else when you’re not out there on the pistes.

Indeed, the skiing is fantastic as well. The runs around Courchevel 1850 are meticulously maintained by an impressive contingent of staff. The town centre is surrounded by a bowl of green and blue pistes, which are generally suitable even for novice skiers. More challenging runs for intermediates are found trailing the peaks of Saulire and Chanrossa. In all, there are some 600 km of pistes for skiers to enjoy, with plenty of off-piste alpine runs to keep experts just as engaged.
