Les Gets is a beautiful, traditional Alpine village nestled in the heart of the massive Portes du Soleil ski area. Originally a small farming community, this picture perfect resort has retained much of its French character and is popular due to its convenient  proximity to Geneva - making it ideal for short breaks away. There is still a market here every week and you'll find traditional Savoyarde chalets aplenty. The local slopes are extensive and the resort's link to Morzine means it's a good choice for all levels of skier. There is also a free mini-train service between the main areas of the village centre. Les Gets has its own ice-rink, bowling alley and cinema and is quieter than its larger neighbours despite great restaurants and bars for après ski. Together with its convenient nursery slopes and good childcare facilities, Les Gets is a good option for children of all ages and is a charming choice for families, couples or groups of friends.
