Klosters has been famously popular with the British royal family for years - so much so, that one of the Gotschna cable cars is called 'The Prince of Wales'. It has a suitably regal ambience and is wonderfully chic, with traditional Swiss buildings and cosy mountain restaurants around a picture perfect village centre. Beautiful, traditional wooden chalets are found in abundance above the village, many of which are privately owned by families who've been returning here year after year. For copious amounts of long, wide intermediate pistes, few European resorts perform as well as Klosters. Its local ski area possesses its own measure of lift-accessible off-piste and it's as snowsure as neighbouring Davos. The Madrisa ski area contains a very good kindergarten for children and has good links with Davos promising plenty for beginners and to keep the whole family entertained on a holiday here.
