Veysonnaz is a charming mountain village with a typical Valaisian feel, whilst also benefitting from enough modern infrastructure to satisfy its annual troop of skiers. Situated on a slope above Sion, it is a vantage point for breathtaking views over the Rhone Valley which stretch out towards the beautiful Bernese Alps. Although it is a small resort, it suits even the most adventurous skiers with its situation in the 400km of groomed pistes that make up the Four Valleys. Additionally this ski area is famed for its off-piste skiing as well as being home to the notorious Piste de l'Ours. Its location is convenient for travellers, being a boastful 20 minute drive from Sion airport and a reasonable 2 hours from Geneva.  Non-skiers can enjoy the calm  and relaxation of this small village but watch out for when the local farmers bring their cows up the mountain for the traditional competition to find the Queen Cow.
