The glittering town of St Moritz is famed for being one of the most exclusive ski resorts in the Alps. Located in the upper Engadine valley, it occupies a spectacular location and is centred around a beautiful lake. It boasts a fittingly chic 'champagne climate' bringing dry days, lots of sunshine and great skiing at high altitude.  It must be noted however, that St Moritz's clientele come here as much for the plush facilities and designer shops as they do for the skiing. First famed for it's therapeutic springs, the town has some impressive spa resorts as well as some of the finest 5* hotels in the world. It represents the epitome of style and class - expect caviar and truffles in the mountain restaurants. The three linked ski areas provide much to suit all abilities from the rolling intermediate pistes of the Corviglia to the steep slopes and glacier of Diavolleza. Many guests also come here for the Cresta Run - St Moritz's cross country ski marathon and for polo and horse racing on the frozen lake. A small local airport adds extra convenience for those arriving by private aircraft.
