Arriving in Zurich, we made our way up to the beautiful Tivoli Lodge, one of our luxury chalets in Davos. Pure Alpine charm oozes from the chalet’s delicate décor, with ski in, ski out access, an indoor pool, sauna and fully-equipped home cinema, Tivoli Lodge really does have it all.
Beautiful tree-lined pistes link Davos to the traditional wooden chalets of Klosters, forming a cosmopolitan ski area appealing to every type of skier. We were fortunate enough to get a glimpse of the luxury experiences on offer at both Chesa Falcun and Haus Alpina – fun for groups of up to 12 people looking to relax in style.
Arriving at Chalet Eugenia, Klosters in time to enjoy champagne and canapés in the evening sun on the terrace, we adjusted to take in the glitz and glamour of our surroundings. Absorbing the opulence of thick fabrics, ornate furnishings and gold paintwork before a full 7 course dinner we were treated to a surprise performance from a local group of yodelling girls!
Following an evening upon the balcony overlooking the burning brazier, two of us got up early to investigate the running terrain. Breakfast followed with a feast of fresh bread, croissants, eggs, salmon and a choice of juices including a healthy green juice made with salad, ginger, lemon and lime!
Not wanting to lose sight of the Swiss Chocolate Box idyll we took the train through the Vereina Tunnel to St. Moritz and the Engadine valley. Walking through the glamorous resort we visited the some exclusive apartments, picturing the winter polo on the lake before discovering the charm of Chalet Chesetta.
Having been out to St. Anton every year for the last 8 years, it was a treat to visit the Arlberg during the summer. Haus Austria, Chalet Maria Schnee and Chalet Illimani are all decked out in the traditional style yet maintain a beautiful simplicity. The Chalet Montfort has a prime location, right in the centre of town and the brand new Galzig Lodges provide fabulous flexible accommodation adjacent to the main lift station in resort.
We then visited new chalets to our portfolio; Mountain Sky housing Chalet Stratus, Chalet Cirrus and Chalet Nimbus filled with natural light and all with Apple TV, Bose sound systems and marvelous views across the Rendl ski area. Chalet Eden Rock looks like it will be the new hotspot in Nasserein with a basement wellness suite and groundfloor bar, but this takes nothing away from the magic of the eldest chalet in resort, Chalet Taja.
One simply cannot visit St. Anton without taking a trip to neighbouring towns Lech and Zurs. Chalet N is the must see chalet in Lech, as well as Uberhaus - both featuring in our Luxury Chalet Collection. Zug is worth a mention as this romantic hamlet is situated on the ′White Circle′ ski route and features some of our most idyllic chalet retreats.
