The skier’s airline and the national airline of Switzerland, they offer 160 flights per week from the UK to Geneva and Zurich airports. Flying from Heathrow, Gatwick, Dublin, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham and London City, make Swiss one of the top choices for getting to the Alps.
In addition not only do you always get a Swiss Chocolate on every flight (who doesn’t love a cliché?) but your skis / snowboard and equipment all fly for free! This is the only airline that offers this to the Alps.
For anyone heading to one of the fantastic Swiss resorts, Swiss Air and Swiss Rail offer a Fly Rail Baggage service. Relax and take in the beautiful scenery on the train to resort as your luggage is transported from your departure airport to your Swiss resort. What more can you ask for in an airline?
British Airways
Flying from London Heathrow, London Gatwick and London City airports British Airways accept ski and snowboard equipment up to 190cm and 23kg provided it is packed correctly. This is free but only if you do not have any other checked-in baggage, you will also have to pack your boots separately. If you take skis in addition to a checked-in bag, you’ll pay £34 each way online, and £40 each way at the airport.
Easy Jet
Flying from a range of regional airports Easy Jet is the ideal choice for those who live further afield from London. Fly to the Alps from Aberdeen, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Gatwick, London Luton, London Southend, London Stansted, Manchester and Newcastle. Ski equipment is charged at £30 each way pre booked or £40 each way at the airport, your hold luggage plus your ski bag can way up to 40kg. Or simply use your ski bag as your main hold luggage, however be warned the bag must weigh under 20kg.
