The Skiing
The heli skiing is in small groups of 4 guests, with a choice of a private or shared A-Star helicopter. The ski area is 1,500 square miles of heli skiing terrain bordered by the sea. Iceland’s Arctic maritime snowpack is for both the hard charger and the smooth cruiser. Sea-to-summit has never looked this good. Think vast valleys that scream for first tracks.
The Property
Deplar Farm is a stunning new lodge that is taking Icelandic hospitality to an entirely new level. The lodge has been built using classic Icelandic materials and finished with a contemporary twist. The bedrooms are beautifully designed with built-in music streaming and remote-controlled electric blackout blinds, to ensure you have a solid sleep blocking out the midnight sun. The lodge has been designed to be enjoyed – the floor to ceiling windows in each room bring the mountains inside. A large horseshoe bar is the beating heart of the lodge and for those budding musicians, there is a full music kit for karaoke nights… The downstairs spa area is one of the many highlights of the lodge; massage rooms, floatation pods, a small gym and an indoor swimming pool, providing plenty of distraction. The outside (naturally heated) pool is perfect for relaxing sore muscles, especially given the built-in bar and underwater bar stools. There are two chefs who certainly make sure that your stomach is never empty – expect Icelandic cuisine with some modern influences.
