So Much Splendid Spring Snow In The Alps!

March 09, 2017  ·
So Much Splendid Spring Snow In The Alps!

Having been a little jumpy about the snow in 2017 it seems the snow gods have heard our prayers and petitions, and granted a bumper Spring ski season. We thought it was necessary to let you know what’s happening and where in the next few weeks, given the crazy amount of snow that’s fallen in the last week or so. We also thought we'd demonstrate the latest snow through the latest Instagram photos of the different resorts. Any questions about which resorts, hotels or chalets to book please ring our experienced team on 01993 899 420 or click here.

Zermatt

Zermatt. This charming resort currently boasts 220cm of snow up the mountain and a beautiful 20cm in the village. Zermatt covered in fluffy fresh snow is hard to beat, with the magnificent Matterhorn looming majestically above, no cars to consider and strict architecture rules, this resort is the quintessential Swiss town.

 Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole. For this resort we must really start by saying that Jackson Hole has received a startling and irresistible 400 INCHES this season… Shall we jump on the next flight? Who could resist the call to the American skier’s dream; empty pistes, powder round every corner and plenty of off-piste and tree runs for the more adventurous? Yes please.

Val d'Isere

Val d’Isere. For a stylish resort with one of the best reputations for being snow sure, Val d’Isere needs to be in our list for Spring skiing. Currently with 270cm on the summit and heavy snow forecasted for the next week there’s plenty of reasons to choose Val d’Isere as your next destination.

Verbier

Verbier. This stunning Swiss resort with breathtaking views and exhilarating skiing has just had a recent 42cm snow fall and with more snow forecast this resort is one to ski in Spring 2017! Of course we don’t need to remind you of the glamour that surrounds this swish resort, but if the chalets and hotels we have are anything to go by this resort is a winner!

Les 3 Vallées

3 Valleys. With resorts such as Meribel, Courchevel and Val Thorens all clustered within this incredible terrain of skiing wonderland it would be hard to choose only one of the many resorts in the Three Valleys for our Spring skiing recommendations. But just to whet your appetite Courchevel 1850 has just had 41cm and Val Thorens 45cm in the last few days… Need we say more?

Châtel

Chatel. With heavy snow on the horizon for Chatel, skiing in the Portes du Soleil region is looking peachy, and combine this knowledge with the picturesque town, fabulous fine dining for foodies and ease of transport to get to the resort Chatel is a fantastic choice for a quick injection of snow linked adrenaline and holiday vibe!
