Often perceived as Val d’Isere’s concrete cousin, Tignes is an already popular resort for serious skiers but slightly lacks the finesse of her neighbour. But why should she waste time and money fluffing the feathers in her resort centre when most of her visitors rarely spend much time here – after all, there’s valuable time to be had on the extensive slope of L’Espace Killy ski area, why waste it drinking and sleeping!?
But we envisage this to change this season. You really can have your cake (or rather champagne powder) and eat it with the introduction of two new luxury chalets ahead of this forthcoming season which will perfectly complement the two existing luxury offerings in resort. Located in the exclusive area of Le Lac, Chalet Opal and Chalet Ambre herald a new age of luxury for Tignes’ accommodation. Located side by side with glorious, uninterrupted views over the extensive mountain peaks, these chalets are a welcomed addition to the region.
Each with their own private outdoor hot tub, sumptuous furnishings and spacious living areas, these chalets are also ski in – ski out…they say “snow-permitting” but when you’re at an altitude of 2,100m we have no reason to believe you’ll be subjected to the ‘tedious’ one minute walk to the piste instead! Chalet Opal is the larger of the two, sleeping 10 in 5 en-suite bedrooms. Chalet Ambre sleeps 8 in 4 en-suite bedrooms. They can be rented individually or taken as a whole to accommodate up to 18 guests.
They are the product of an already established leading luxury operator in Switzerland and Austria and signal the operator’s break-through into France. Therefore we know for a fact that the service level will match the high standards of the properties. We guarantee your feeling of absolute satisfaction following a mind blowing day out on some of France’s best off-piste terrain will continue long into the evening at a stay at either of these two chalets.
At the moment both chalets are available for all season’s weeks – including New Year - but we can’t urge you enough to book quickly – they’ll be snapped up faster than you can say ‘Val d’Isere who?’…
