With the ‘will they, won’t they’ finally resolved we are delighted to say that the 4 Vallees ski area in Switzerland will remain just the way as we have all known and loved it: United as it has been for years gone by, not divided into separate areas as had been the possible outcome on the table whilst the authorities battled it out.
Skiers & snowboarders have been held in limbo over the past few months with fears circulating as the key players in the resorts, notably between Verbier & Veysonnaz, commenced increasingly bittered discussions. Not that mud was being slung but stalemate had reared its ugly head over where the money in the pot from ski pass sales would sit. And for a time it appeared that appeasement could only be reached with a simple yet damaging policy of dividing the 4 Vallees down the middle – effectively creating 2 separate ski areas each with its own ski pass. Alas, signalling the demise of the 4 Vallees.
But HURRAH - the announcement came yesterday from our good friend in the know, PlanetSki.com and latterly confirmed by Verbier Tourist Board that common ground has finally been found…the 4 Vallees prevail triumphant. 1 ski pass = 4 ski areas. Phew.
And in celebration of this glorious day (yes, we are very much excited and not least relieved…Verbier was in grave danger of losing ALL of her off-piste!) standby for plenty of special offers and promotions exclusive to The Oxford Ski Company that will be released this week her on our Blog, Twitter & Facebook page…follow us to keep the finger on the pulse. We guarantee this tiding of great news is a gift that is going to keep on giving…
