After a hard day on the slopes there is nothing quite like a swim to stretch out aching muscles and to relax one’s mind in soothing waters. But that doesn’t mean you want to lose sight of that incredibly beautiful & dramatic mountain scenery all around you. Some chalets and hotels have really managed to create the most sensational vistas from their pools, allowing you to soak up the view while you have a soak yourself.
Alpina Dolomites, Alpe di Siusi
This swimming pool (as you can see above) offers truly breathtaking mountain views of the impressive Dolomites and surrounding UNESCO World Heritage Site. The indoor pool extends outside which means you can swim straight through into the fresh air. In the evenings you can watch that famously pink sunset fall across the mountains, which combined with that atmospheric lighting indoors makes for a very special swim. Although this is about the pool, we also recommend the fantastic spa facilities too!
The Omnia’s outdoor/indoor pools allow you to enjoy unparalleled views of the majestic Matterhorn. Not only that but you can make the most of the six powerful massage jets, helping to soothe those muscles without the need for a masseur! They even have torches lit in the evening to give your dusk dip a truly magical ambiance.
Maison Blanche et Verte, Châtel
The indoor swimming pool in Maison Blanche et Verte is certainly a selling point for this beautiful chalet. If you haven’t quite exercised enough whilst skiing you can stretch out those muscles swimming against a jet stream, or just enjoy soaking in the warm waters. With bi-folding doors on two of its sides, if the weather is clement enough, you can enjoy swimming with the open air and fantastic views across the valley.
This large swimming pool, set in the cavernous depths of the property, still manages to boast a sensational view of the town twinkling below, seen through a large semi-circular window. It has a jet stream for the hardy swimmer or gentler jets to soothe tired legs. A seating area works particularly well for evening drinks, particularly if children need keeping an eye on!
This luxurious chalet continues its high standards all the way through to the two large pools it provides; an indoor pool with jet streams and an outdoor heated infinity pool, both with incredible views of the mountains. These pools are perfect for an après swim, particularly with a sauna, hammam/steam, and massage room - what could be better?
