Where's The Snow Falling?

January 05, 2017  ·
Where's The Snow Falling?

After a very promising start back in November the snow held off over Christmas and so it is our great joy to report which resorts will be getting the fresh snow fall in the Alps over the next few days!! And it’s looking fantastic! That means it’s the perfect time for any last minute January bookings or if you’re already booked in, you can start getting exited about the conditions!

St Anton Snow Forecast, Austria

Snow is falling as we write in this beautiful resort, sometimes considered as the skiing capital of Austria! Hooray! With significant fresh snowfall yesterday and over 50cm more expected by the middle of next week, it’s looking good in this good-looking resort.

Lech Snow Forecast, Austria

As can be expected, what is happening in St Anton is usually mirrored in Lech, and so far this looks to be the case. Days and nights of fresh snowfall predicted for the coming week, interspersed with gloriously sunny days. Lech allows you to access the mighty Arlberg ski area in the same way St Anton does (especially thanks to a brand new lift this season!), but here you can rub shoulders with royalty who favour this resort, sample traditional foods in the small, picturesque town and enjoy exquisite skiing on typically sunny and sometimes quieter pistes.

Gstaad Snow Forecast, Austria

Expect to see light sprinklings in glamorous Gstaad this week and then 10cm between the 10th and 11th January, just to make it even more tempting to book a holiday in this jet-setter-chic resort. With its stunning scenery, exhilarating skiing opportunities and ritzy chic atmosphere this resort is one for discerning skiing clientele.

Zermatt Snow Forecast, Switzerland

Marvel at the Matterhorn as you swoosh down the excellently maintained Swiss pistes, enjoying the recently fallen 17cm of fresh snow on the 4th January and a further 10cm expected on the 10th January. Not much can beat that combination, well… maybe followed by a Swiss fondue, velvety rum laced hot chocolate and a wander through Zermatt’s boutique-lined main street.

Les Gets Snow Forecast, France

With 10cm expected (and fully underway) on the 4th and 5th January and then a whopping 16cm on the 10th Les Gets will be an excellent resort for a last minute booking, with picture perfect views of the Portes du Soleil region, conveniently close to Geneva with all the French charm in its village architecture and many extra-curricular activities in the town for non-skiers.

Morzine Snow Forecast, France

In the same skiing region as Les Gets, we are expecting a similar pattern of 11cm over the 4th and 5th with the same wonderous 16cm falling on the 10th January. With this resort famed for it’s buzzing atmosphere and extreme skiing vibe there’s never a dull moment in the resort with plenty of après events and a fantastic array of luxury accommodation both within and surrounding the resort. Not to mention it’s conveniently close to Geneva and perfect for a short ski weekend break.
