Bringing your own ski equipment?
When traveling to the mountains, it's typical to rent ski equipment at the resort or even through your ski hotel, but you may prefer using your own equipment. Once you’re dressed nice and warm, here is what you’ll need to get yourself down the mountains.
- Ski boots

A good-fitting boot can make or break your enjoyment on the mountain, so if you’re going to invest in one piece of equipment, we would always put ski boots at the top of the list, with the second a custom-fit liner.

Ski Holiday Essentials: FAQs
Are jeans okay for skiing?
Jeans are not recommended for skiing. It’s better to wear flexible clothing underneath your ski trousers to allow you to move around comfortably such as thermal leggings.
Can I go on a ski holiday and not ski?
There are plenty of things to do on a ski holiday besides skiing. Many people choose skiing holidays simply to enjoy the views or relax in the restaurants and spas.
How many ski lessons do I need before a ski holiday?
There is no set number of lessons needed before booking a ski holiday. For some travellers, it’s possible to feel comfortable on the slopes after just a few lessons, and for others, it may take longer. There are also dedicated beginner ski holidays that can be booked if you have no experience on the slopes.
