With a dramatic and exclusive cliff-side location in the lower-most regions of Hirafu Village, The Glasshouse is an extraordinary modern chalet which enjoys unobstructed views to the towering volcanic peak of Mount Yōtei. The clue is really in the name – striking floor-to-ceiling windows encase the entire top floor living, kitchen and dining area, inviting you to immerse yourself in the breathtaking snowcapped mountain views.
Originally built for Australian celebrity chef Simon Robinson, this stunning private residence embraces Niseko’s signature design ethic – a heady mix of concrete, wood & glass. It is unapologetically modern in every sense. However, first and foremost Simon wanted a space in which to cook, entertain and, most importantly, call ‘home’ – mission very much accomplished. The open-plan living space fills the entire upper level, central to which is a huge kitchen…with a bar alongside which allows guests to keep the chef company whilst food is being prepared. Other features worth highlighting include an outdoor hot tub, as well as a traditional wooden Japanese outdoor bath, ski storage, BBQ grill and laundry facilities. There are five bedrooms, including one bunk room, meaning The Glasshouse can comfortably sleep 10 people (12 at a push), making it perfect for two families to share or for a large group of friends.
Located in lower Hirafu the Glasshouse is in a very private, exclusive and quiet cul-de-sac. It is a decent walk up the hill to the restaurants and bars, as well as to the public shuttle, although a private concierge will arrange on demand shuttles to any local amenity – ski lifts, restaurants, bars and convenience stores - from dawn until dusk.
