Overview
When the sun starts dipping behind the peaks and the late afternoon chill returns to the air, it’s a rather wonderful feeling knowing that Ferme du Rys is waiting for you. Dating back to 1798, this is your very own Alpine farmhouse, renovated to its full glory to combine original features with the modern luxuries we know you expect.
Shaking off the snow in the boot room, the crackle and warmth of the log burner makes a welcome focal point in Ferme du Rys’ large open plan living room. This space was originally used to dry the hay but oh how times have changed. Still retaining original features, this is now your luxurious space to gather with those closest to you. Slide open the large glass doors and take your well earned drink of choice out onto the balcony to breathe in the mountain air. You’ve earnt it.
Back inside, be spoilt with choice as to how to while away the hours before dinner. For those after peace and tranquillity, the reading snug with views across to the Dent du Midi is the perfect space to hide away with that book you’ve been meaning to finish. Alternatively, hunker down in the two tier cinema room which was previously the farm’s stables. For those with energy still to burn, the Games Room will host après-ski entertainment and continue the days competitive ski streak in the form of games of pool and table tennis. If that gets too much, the farmer’s former wine cellar and store is now a carefully considered wellness suite complete with the sauna, relaxation area and shower in which to unwind. Alpine days really do just keep on giving.
Ferme du Rys comfortably sleeps eight adults and five children and when it is finally time to retire for the night, be spoilt with five luxuriously furnished bedrooms. All still retain an authentic charm with ancient timbers but now provide the ultimate end of day sanctuary. With views like these, we won’t blame you for not drawing the curtains.
