Chalet Cheval Blanc is a truly blockbuster chalet, only really being rivalled for size in Meribel by Chalet La Ferme de mon Grand Père. It is made up of five levels, with seven double beds, and accommodates up to a maximum of 17 guests in its 450 sqm of living space. This provides ample space to enjoy the chalet with both friends and families, ideal for larger groups and multigenerational families.
The location is ideal for those seeking a degree of exclusivity combined with convenience, as the property is found just a stone's throw from the lifts and pistes - offering genuine ski in access - whilst also being just 2km from the main town of Meribel. It is worth noting, though, that the chalet comes with a driving service that runs from 08:00-20:00 within the Meribel valley, so access to the town is far from limited.
As is so often the case with luxury ski chalets, Cheval Blanc represents a beautiful marriage between the classic and the contemporary. Only built in 2016, one could be forgiven for expecting everything about the chalet to be hypermodern. Yet, with the combination of stunning woodwork and authentic Savoie stone throughout the chalet, there can be no doubt that the architectural inspiration for the property came from traditional alpine design.
In terms of entertainment, the main living area (with interconnecting living room and open-plan kitchen/dining room) is a fantastic space for socialising with friends and family after a long day on the slopes. Further features include a reading room for guests in need of a quiet moment, a massage room for total relaxation, and a cinema room for those wanting a thrill. The undisputed highlight, though, is the lagoon-like heated indoor swimming pool with ceiling to floor windows, found on the ground floor. As if guests need any extra incentive to get back to the chalet.
