Setting the scene
The Riffelalp Resort is situated at 2,222m above Zermatt. Part of the experience of staying here is reaching the hotel by the Gornergrat mountain railway - a feature which really adds to the exclusive feel of the hotel and is enjoyed by all.
This property has all the qualities for a memorable stay, with an ideal ski-in/ski-out location in the Riffelalp ski area, gastronomic restaurant and relaxing sun terrace, extensive spa area plus both indoor and outdoor pools and mini-fitness centre. The Riffelalp is an exemplary self-contained resort in itself and even features its own bowling alley!
The hotel is especially suited to families with young children. It has a supervised playroom (during the winter) welcoming children from two to eight years, that is open Sunday to Friday from 3:00pm to 10:30pm. Here older children can play on the Playstation whilst the younger children can enjoy toys, games as well as arts and crafts available.

Spa and Wellness
The 'Spa 2,222m' is one of the highest altitude spas in Europe. The spa offers guests extensive facilities including an indoor pool with whirlpool, Europe’s highest outdoor pool with water jets and views of the Matterhorn, solarium, steam bath, Finnish sauna, organic sauna, Schönbiel cave with steam bath, Saline bath and grotto.
The Spa also offers a selection of massage treatments and has both a small fitness centre and relaxation areas.
Dining and Après Ski
Ristorante Al Bosco is an elegant restaurant with sun terrace open for lunch and dinner with a predominantly Italian cuisine.
Restaurant Alexandre offers the cosiness of an elegant mountain hut and the view of the silhouette of the Matterhorn with regional and Mediterranean delicacies. This restaurant seats 120 and offers delicious set menus, à la carte dishes, weekly buffets and soirees set against a spectacular view.
Restaurant Walliserkeller has just 35 seats, for those seeking a warm and homely atmosphere in which to sample the local specialities. It offers regional cuisine from the open fire.
The Bar spacious bar area with a warm and cosy atmosphere, the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail while enjoying the piano music.
Vinothek offers wine tasting with the knowledge from one of their Maîtres d’Hôtel, providing the opportunity to taste some of the finest wines from around the world.
