Setting the scene
The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is situated on the banks of the beautiful turquoise waters of Lake Louise. With stunning views of the lake and the Victoria Glacier stretching out beyond it, this location is certainly hard to beat. The hotel is in the centre of the beautiful Banff National Park, which is itself a UNESCO world heritage site.
The Chateau was built at the end of the 19th century by the Canadian Pacific Railway to encourage people to travel by train through the stunning scenery and enjoy all that Alberta has to offer. With 550 guest rooms, 6 restaurants, in house shopping and a superb spa, the hotel certainly has a lot to offer.
The hotel is located only 10mins from the main ski area of Lake Louise, offering an extensive range of skiing from gentle green runs to fantastic off piste powder skiing in the back bowls.
