At Oxford Ski Company, we pride ourselves on having first-hand experience and knowledge of the chalets, hotels, and resorts we feature. We are a close-knit team who are dedicated and passionate about what we do.
Within this series, we’re highlighting each of our specialists across the team as we dive into their knowledge of some of our most popular resorts across the world.
My first ski experience was nearly 20 years ago, and I have never looked back. After two seasons working in European ski resorts, and five years crewing superyachts worldwide, I decided to put my knowledge to good use and help others discover amazing properties in the world’s best resorts. Working with Oxford Ski Company I now have the privilege of visiting some of the world’s best ski resorts in The Alps, year on year.
Verbier is such a stunning resort, one of the most beautiful I have skied in Europe, so it’s easy to see why it’s so popular with our clients from all over the world. When you’re heading out for a day’s skiing in Verbier, I always suggest starting the day at Carrefour to avoid the queues at the Medran, that way you will have a faster start to the morning and still great access to the wider ski area.

Where to Eat
Le Dahu – with the most incredible views, varied menu made with fresh seasonal and local ingredients, this pedestrian accessible restaurant is a firm favourite amongst Verbier goers and a great spot for a rosé in the sun.
My Favourite Places to Stay
Chalet Makini – A personal favourite of mine, Chalet Makini has that wow factor from when you first walk in the door. Warm, inviting, and intimate, it’s close to the piste has a gorgeous fire in the living area and one of the largest spas in Verbier.
The Lodge – Richard Branson’s private mountain residence is up for rent and is a great property for large groups to get together in style. The Lodge has 10 spacious bedrooms, so you can invite all your friends and family to enjoy the impeccable service.
Chalet Nyumba – Translating to “home” from Swahili, Chalet Nyumba is just that, the owners home. They have filled it with the most amazing African artwork picked up on their travels, it has all the modern luxuries such as pool, cinema, and hot tub, in an incredible traditional setting.
The Best Après Spots
The Farinet has a legendary status in Verbier and easily one of the most famous spots for some après ski fun. There is live music most evenings, and they have a retractable roof that is perfect for those sunny evenings in the snow.
My Top Tip for Ski Trips
Download your chosen resorts phone app. Most resorts have them now and they are invaluable for working out where to go, which lifts are open and which restaurants to choose.
