Overview
La Grange et Merle is a traditional 18th century farmhouse which has been lovingly renovated to create a charming luxury ski chalet. Located in the quiet resort of Chatel, in the heart of the Portes du Soleil region, the chalet is in a prime position from which to access some fantastic ski areas. Both the resort centre and the nearest lift are just a three minute drive away and you can use the chalet's chauffeured mini bus service to access these.
La Grange et Merle's living areas are very spacious, with high vaulted ceilings and large windows letting in lots of natural light. The renovation strikes a perfect balance between retaining the charm and authenticity of a traditional farmhouse, combined with elegant interiors and modern touches of a renovated property.
On the first floor you will find the chalet's open plan living room with wood burning fireplace creating a cosy ambience at any time of day. Directly opposite there is a fully equipped kitchen with separate chef's table located just behind, as well as a large dining table that seats up to 12 guests - a fantastic place for enjoying meals and spending quality time together.
On this floor you will also find five of the chalet's spacious bedrooms, all with en suite bath or shower rooms and balcony access.
Above the lounge area, the mezzanine library is the perfect place to curl up with a glass of wine and a good book after a long day on the slopes. This leads on to a wrap-around balcony where you can marvel at the stunning mountain views. Another bedroom (Le Grenier) can also be found on this floor and has direct access to the TV snug with games, toys and crafts for any children in the group, plus there is a bunk room which sleeps up to three children. There are also two bedrooms that can accommodate an extra bed on request, allowing up to 15 guests to stay at the chalet.
La Grange et Merle's outdoor hot tub and traditional wooden sauna provide the perfect place to relax and unwind with a glass of Champagne whilst admiring the mountain views. The chalet also has its own ski room with boot warmers and storage space, as well as its own bar and wine cellar where you can enjoy one of the 20 complimentary wines on offer.
