There are few things more appealing than having the peace and privacy of a mountain hideaway while still being within easy reach of Méribel. Chalet L’Orée achieves just that. Set amongst the trees above Les Allues, the chalet feels wonderfully removed from the bustle of the resort, yet the Olympe gondola is only a few minutes away, with Méribel and La Chaudanne also easily reached by car.
The setting is one of its greatest assets. Surrounded by woodland and looking out towards the mountains, the chalet has a real sense of being immersed in the landscape. Inside, five comfortable bedrooms, all with their own bathrooms, provide space for up to ten guests, including two generous master bedrooms.
The open-plan living and dining space is made for unhurried evenings, with a wood-burning fire, large windows and plenty of room to gather. After skiing, the indoor pool and traditional hammam are particularly inviting, while the gym means there is no need to forgo a fitness routine.
