Setting the scene
The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is ideally located in the centre of resort and though it has been kept up to date, it still retains its beautiful character and traditional charm.
Offering either French-Italian cuisine at the Prato Borni restaurant, or gastronomic Mediterranean dishes at the Brasserie Lusi. If however you'd simply prefer an authentic Swiss fondue, head to the saycheese! restaurant instead. There are also two bars to enjoy an aperitif, in front of a roaring fire in the Ruden Bar or at the piano bar Stars.
As a guest at the Zermatterhof, you can enjoy the fantastic Alpine Wellness Spa, complete with a sauna, large pool with waterfall and various treatments to help you relax after a day on the slopes. As an added extra you will also receive a complimentary pick up and drop off from Zermatt station in the hotel's horse-drawn carriage or electric bus on the day of your arrival and departure.
Rooms and Suites
The hotel has a total of 78 rooms, of which 35 are suites.
From single and double classic and deluxe rooms, to elegant junior suites and a variety of luxury suites. Some rooms also have their own fireplace and a Jacuzzi bath. Most rooms have a balcony with a view of the majestic Matterhorn.
Spa and Wellness
The 'Vita Borni' Alpine Wellness Spa offers a range of relaxing body and facial treatments, as well as invigorating massages. As a guest at the hotel, you can make use of the facilities including an indoor pool with waterfall, sauna, steam bath, Alpine grotto, ice grotto and a fitness room.
Dining and Après Ski
Prato Borni: A traditional style restaurant with an international menu, serving French and Italian specialities using locally sourced products. This is also where breakfast is served, and the Royal Buffet on certain evenings throughout Winter. Prato Borni has been awarded 15 points by Gault Millau.
Brasserie Lusi: A modern, bright and welcoming restaurant offering lighter cuisine with a Mediterranean touch. A lovely spot to enjoy a meal whilst looking out to the Matterhorn.
SayCheese: It’s cosy in the small Swiss cheese restaurant. The cheese is expertly refined with a great deal of attention to detail and is prepared and served with passion.
The Ruden Bar: A snug lounge bar with a crackling log fire. Guests can enjoy light lunchtime snacks, afternoon coffee and cake or choose from an array of aperitifs in the evening.
The Stars Bar: Open until late, enjoy a fashionable cocktail or traditional drink listening to live music from the hotel′s pianist.
Smokers Lounge: Found in the Stars Bar and open all day, enjoy a smooth brandy or mature whisky which will make a particularly fitting accompaniment to your fine cigar.
