Grand, sophisticated, and elegant, the Zermatterhof epitomises the traditional luxurious hotels found in Zermatt.
Setting the scene
The Grand Hotel Zermatterhof is ideally located in the centre of the resort, and whilst kept up to date with modern appointments, it still retains its beautiful character and traditional charm.
Enjoy Alpine Gourmet cuisine at the Michelin-Star Prato Borni restaurant, or French dishes and international classics at the Brasserie Lusi, both inside and on the beautiful sun terrace. If, however, you'd prefer an authentic Swiss fondue, head to the Saycheese! restaurant, serving world-famous classic Swish dishes with local cheeses. There are also two bars to enjoy an aperitif, in front of a roaring fire in the How Do You Do? Bar, or at the stunning Stars Bar, where you can also enjoy live piano music.
As a guest at the Zermatterhof, experience the fantastic Alpine Wellness Spa, complete with a Finnish sauna, steam bath, ice grotto, large pool and various treatments to help you relax after a day on the slopes. As an added extra, you will also receive a complimentary pickup and drop off from Zermatt station in the hotel's horse-drawn carriage or electric bus on the day of your arrival and departure.
Rooms and Suites
The hotel has a total of 78 rooms, of which 35 are suites.
From single and double classic and deluxe rooms, to elegant junior suites and a variety of luxury suites. Some rooms also have their own fireplace and a Jacuzzi bath. Most rooms have a balcony with a view of the majestic Matterhorn.

Spa and Wellness
The Vita Borni Alpine Wellness Spa offers a range of relaxing body and facial treatments, as well as invigorating massages. As a guest at the hotel, you can make use of the facilities including a 15m indoor pool, whirlpool with Matterhorn view, Finnish sauna, steam bath, ice grotto and relaxation room with day beds and refreshments. There is also a fitness room, with personal training on request.
The spa exclusively uses products by Matterhorn Swiss Mineral Cosmetics. They use active ingredients with high levels of minerals and trace elements from the rocks of the Matterhorn, as well as local Alpine plants and pure glacial water.
Dining and Après Ski
Prato Borni: Alpine Gourmet traditional restaurant with both a Homeland (Heimat) and Wanderlust (Fernweh) menu, serving local Swiss and International cuisine using locally sourced products. Prato Borni has been awarded 16 points by Gault Millau as well as a Michelin Star.
Brasserie Lusi: A modern, bright and welcoming restaurant offering beautiful French cuisine and international classics. A lovely spot to enjoy a meal whilst looking out to the Matterhorn. The Lusi terrace in front of the hotel is sunniest spot in the village, a fantastic location for lunch and an afternoon cocktail in the Winter sun.
Saycheese!: It’s cosy in the small Swiss cheese restaurant. The cheese is expertly refined with a great deal of attention to detail and is prepared and served with passion. Finish your evening with a delicious Toblerone Fondue.
How Do You Do? Bar Lounge Cafe: A snug lounge bar with a crackling log fire. Guests can enjoy light lunchtime snacks, afternoon coffee and cake or choose from an array of aperitifs in the evening.
The Stars Bar: Open until late, enjoy a fashionable cocktail or traditional drink listening to live music from the hotel′s pianist.
Smokers Lounge: Found in the Stars Bar and open all day, enjoy a smooth brandy or mature whisky alongside a fantastic selection of Cuban and Dominican cigars.
